My friends Jen and Jose came by Saturday night to hang out and say our goodbyes; they are leaving Chicago for Los Angeles. Jen, along with my wife and 3 more friends, moved together to Chicago 7 years ago. We all lived in the same house (!) for the first year. Not knowing when we would see each other again, I really wanted to take some photographs of them. Good luck you two!
Thanks to my awesome wife for her assistance and “scarf magic”.

Here’s my attempt at a National Geographic style photograph:

A memorial created for Joe Zeman (a.k.a “Pigeon Man”). That is Joe Zeman in the framed photograph. He’s sitting on this exact fire hydrant, feeding the pigeons.
You can read the full story of Joe Zeman’s untimely death here.

Big thanks goes out to Nick and Anna for graciously allowing me to photograph them outside in 30-sum degree weather. I felt bad wearing a coat in front of them.

An awesome present given to my wife and I from my sister-and-brother-in-law. They ROCK!
Hand painted by local Chicago artist ‘Choke’(aka Joe Suta). You can view more Choke artwork here. Great stuff.

Every photographer has to have at least one photograph of a bicycle, right?

This is my dog ‘Kaboom.’ He loves playing in and eating(mostly eating) snow. To Kaboom, snow is comparable to a Schedule 2 controlled substance, like cocaine. Kaboom is a wacky K-9 and that’s why I love him.

A symbol used by the Order of the Eastern Star. A fraternal organization for both men and women. I was introduced to the OES at a very young age due to my grandmother being a member. She was a devout member and decorated her home with OES symbology.
