Lance

February 27, 2008

Here are few images taken last weekend of my friend (and brother-in-law) Lance. Lance is full of facial expressions, so I was excited to photograph him. We used the building where he works for the shots. To be more specific, the freight elevator and the machine room for said elevator.

Here’s the latest installment of the ‘Knick-Knack’ series. A panited ceramic ‘Day of the Dead’ skull. A gift from Danialle’s aunt, brought back from her trip to Mexico.

Gotcha!

Darn it. The paparazzi (wife) finally found me, and my secret lair. :)

Believe it or not, this frightful object is actually a salsa bowl. Its cranium has been sawed open to provide the perfect container for your favorite salsa. It is hard to get a sense of its size in the picture, but this thing is as big as real head.

A friend picked this up for us while passing through New Orleans. It came with a decomposing hand, jutting out of the ground, that holds up a large bowl for chips and whatnot.

Yummy!

Day of the Dead – Band & Dancing

February 1, 2008

Since I have been bound to the apartment (knee surgery), I have been taking photographs of various knick knacks that dwell within our apartment. These two photos are of ‘Day of the Dead‘ statues that my wife brought home from Mesilla, New Mexico. If you are not familiar with the Mexican ‘Day of the Dead’ tradition, please visit here.

I made this image a desktop wallpaper for my wife’s computer. It is also available to visitors of this blog. Download 1024×768 (right-click, save as)

My wife and I like to imagine that this couple is us dancing together. One of these dancing images will be used for our upcoming 10* Year Wedding Anniversary Party invitation; considering we were married on Halloween. Ha ha!

*10 years!
