On Sunday, we spent 2 and a half hours strolling through Graceland Cemetery and photographing the monuments within. Graceland Cemetery is gorgeous and it was a beautiful day for outdoor photography.
Below is an image from Graceland Cemetery: it is a detail shot of the Crusader statue that marks the grave of newspaper publisher Victor Lawson (1850-1925).

With my birthday just around the corner (15th – Tax Day!), my uber cool wife surprised me with a new camera bag. She bought me Dakine’s Sequence photo pack. I have been lusting over the Dakine Sequence pack since first laying eyes upon it. I’m a devout user of Dakine’s packs; been using them for several years. They have a great warranty.
[Note to Dakine: endorsements are welcome. ]
Looking forward to taking it out for a test drive.
Saturday afternoon, Danialle and I drove to Sheridan, Illinois to meet-up with her family staying at Fox River Resort. We spent the day swimming, playing mini golf and exploring the area. The evening ended with a delicious meal at a nearby restaurant called Woody’s. I had the best tasting broiled shrimp enter my mouth last night. My taste buds are still talking about them this morning.
Despite the risk of injuring my knee again (I had knee surgery in January) and voiding two months of physical therapy, I walked across a narrow bridge of large rocks to capture the image of the waterfall shown below.
*waits for angry telephone call from knee surgeon* Ha ha!

There is a horse stable with several horses at the resort, too. Although there were a couple of close calls, I successfully managed to not touch the hot wire surrounding the parameter.
Woke-up this morning at around 6:15AM to use the water closet. But instead of crawling back into my warm, comfy bed afterwards, I decided to cruise to the beach and take some sunrise photos. Sadly, I was a little too late for the “golden hour”. The sun had won this time.
The following image is the result of wanting to photograph something interesting at 12:33AM. Her name is Betty A. Mannequin. She is a rather old mannequin that we adopted about 8 years ago. She is soft-spoken and has a great sense of humor.
It’s too bad Betty didn’t use more skin moisturizer as she grew older.
Below is a video of photographer Martin Prihoda explaining his photo shoot with the Canadian electronic band Delerium.
Rhys Fulber, a member of Delrium, has another musical project called Conjure One, which I really like. Rys Fulber was also a member of the industrial band Front Line Assembly. I was a hardcore fan of FLA during the 90’s and continue to enjoy their releases.
