Baby Foy - 8 Weeks

Baby Foy - 8 Weeks

Last Monday, Danialle and I got to see our first glimpse of the little pinto bean via ultrasound. Amazing. It was truly surreal to see and hear its tiny little heart beating. Its growth measured a week behind than normal, so we have another ultrasound scheduled for this Tuesday to check on it again. It had a strong heartbeat which is comforting to me. Keep your chin (do you even have a face? ha ha!) up, little buddy!

Hell… Boy

July 25, 2008

The Mrs. and I had a much needed date night yesterday.

We grabbed some food at this fancy mexican restaurant called Chipotle. :)

Went to Half Price Books to find some baby books for fathers-to-be (me!). I bought Scott Mactavish’s The New Dad’s Survival Guide. To my surprise, HPB had three brand new copies of The Prisoner: Volume 4, on DVD, of which I was missing (yay!), but decided not to buy (boo!). I also passed up the chance to buy a used copy of Norwegian black metal band, Dimmu Borgir’s, World Misanthropy DVD for only $15 clams (double boo!). My frugality can be disgusting sometimes.

Finally, we cruised over to the multiplex and watched Hellboy II: The Golden Army. We both loved the first one and were excited to see the latest installment. There wasn’t another single soul in the theater when we walked in and I was able to sit exactly were I wanted to; bit of an A/V snob. It appears that everyone else on the planet was too busy watching that other movie, The Dark Knight.

In a nutshell, I thought Hellboy II was visually stunning (in the vein of Pan’s Labyrinth), had some great dialogue, but the seemingly never ending action sequences began to grate on my eyes and ears. The fantastic musical composer, Danny Elfman, provides an amazing sounding score. Go check it out!

It’s Official: Pregnant!

July 9, 2008

Danialle just received the results from her blood test taken yesterday. Holy shit! We first found out Friday (4th of July!) morning when Danialle took a pregnancy test. So, 5 pregnancy tests and a blood test later, the officical verdict is POSITIVE.

We have been together for 12 years (married for 10 years), I figure it’s a good time to start spawning. Ha ha!

My mom would be soooo happy right now.

Fireworks

July 7, 2008

Danialle and I traveled to Indiana last weekend to celebrate our Day of Independence (last day?*) with family and fireworks. Danialle’s cousin hosted a 4th of July party for the family. It wouldn’t be right to celebrate such a glorious American occasion without objects that explode with burning colors and ear-ringings sounds, so a handful of the guys went in pursuit of fireworks before sunset – $300 dollars worth. It was a blast! Ha ha! No fingers or eyes were lost, but a couple of burns and blisters were suffered.

The image below is a box of aerial shells that are launched into the sky via mortar. Very cool!

*Danialle and I found out some very exciting news Friday morning before leaving for Indiana. I’m going to keep it hush-hush until it is declared official. Stay tuned for the scoop!
