A Day Off

Finally had a day off from work last Sunday. August is stacked with weddings. Four weddings down, four to go. What a great learning experience.

Danialle and I started the day with some breakfast and periodicals at Beans and Bagels. After breakfast, we went home, picked up Kaboom, and took him to the dog beach to swim in the lake and run off some steam with other dogs. Lance (brother-in-law) and Coen (nephew) met us at the beach a few hours later to hang out and play in the sand. We also walked over to the nearby skate park to watch some skaters strut their stuff. Fun times.

After leaving the lake, we dropped off Kaboom and made our way over to a local bar where my sister-in-law, Jamie, works. We ate some pizza and had a drink (first drink is free on Sundays. Woot!). I’ve been enjoying Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy lately. Danialle had a virgin (she’s prego!) Bloody Mary.

Later that evening, Danialle and I stopped by our favorite video rental store and rented Penelope, starring Christina Ricci. Great flick. It had a very Tim Burtion-ish feel to it; bright colors and fantastic cinematography. Check it out!
