Ten Year Wedding Anniversary

October 31, 2008

Danialle and I posing during our wedding reception.

Today marks Danialle and I’s 10 year wedding anniversary. We got hitched in front of a country field, with friends and family dressed in costumes, on October 31st, 1998.

Look at my wife’s beautiful smile, it still tickles my heart 10 years later. In case you do not recognized the fellow with her, that’s what I look like 70lbs heavier (not including the sideburns. ha ha!).

Aren’t we like, totally, gothic?

Our dinner celebration was canceled due to the both of us battling the flu. Instead, we curled up in bed and watched some television shows.

I’m now a proud uncle of a niece. Yorke was born yesterday morning and weighed in at a hefty 5lbs-15oz. She looks A LOT (seriously) like her big brother did when he was born. Danialle and I went to the hospital last night and both of our hearts melted as we took turns holding baby Yorke. Congrats to Lance and Jamie!

Mr. Jarvis has graced us with yet another fantastic video explaining his use of high speed photography to shoot some stills of Superfad’s recent broadcast campaign for the Kung Fu HD network.

Ridgewood Cemetery – Glenview, IL

Moments after seeing a grave marker that displayed the first name of a high school friend and suggesting to Danialle that we should start photographing grave markers with the names of our friends and send the images to the them, we stumbled upon one that just so happened to have my first name (spelled with the extra letter D!) inscribed upon it. Very bizarre.

Coincidence?

Ridgewood Cemetery is the 23rd cemetery Danialle and I have visited in the Chicago area. Check out the whole list here.

Last Sunday, Danialle and I visited Town of Maine Cemetery in Park Ridge, Illinois. This was cemetery stop number 22 of over 70 that we will be visiting in the Chicagoland area. To get the whole story, check out our Chicago Cemetery Tour page.

Thanks to the Spielmann family for providing an awesome place for a couple of cemetery enthusiasts to rest their laurels.

Here is a frightful image to get you warmed up for Halloween. More Halloween and Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) images are in the works. Stay tuned!

Original image of skull was captured at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum in Chicago, then processed in Lightroom and Photoshop.
