About Me

Howdy! Thanks for visiting my photo blog. I started this blog in January of 2008 to share my new found passion for photography while recovering from knee surgery. While being stuck in my 3rd floor apartment for 3 months (first time down 3 flights of stairs on crutches took 4.7 years off my life), I used the time off work to stoke my creative fire. Every day I hobbled around the apartment setting up lights and photographing various objects.
Besides two black & white film classes in High School, I have had no formal education or training in the art of Photography. Just a strong independent desire to learn and experiment.
My photographic journey started when I found my dad’s neglected camera gear resting at the bottom of my parent’s bedroom closet. Soon thereafter, my parents bought me a used Minolta SR-T SC-II SLR camera and a 50mm, ƒ/2 lens for High School photography classes. I still have the camera, it now resides on a bookshelf in my living room.
I’m currently assisting wedding photographer, Kevin Weinstein. Take a minute to go check out is work. www.kevinweinstein.com
I live in Chicago with my amazing wife and my awesome dog, Dr. Kaboom. We are expecting our first child in March, 2009. Yay!
